Museum of Tomorrow:
Identity

Our planet and our lives are changing rapidly. Where do we come from? Who do we want to be as a society? How do we want to live? The Museum of Tomorrow (Museu do Amanhã) is a science museum that explores ideas about our past, present and future.

The building of the museum is inspired by Brazilian flora and was designed by Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava. The port district of Rio de Janeiro, which was once a dangerous place to be in, is now home to the museum which sits on a pier which overlooks Guanabara bay. The museum is part of a larger project to transform the area into a new art/cultural of Rio.

The mark of the Museu do Amanhã (Museum of Tomorrow) is inspired by the human eye, the cosmos and curiosity. All colors in the uv spectrum are represented and arranged in a way that captures the colors and energy of Rio.

The Museum's identity uses Calibre, a hyper-rational neo-grotesque geometric typeface, designed by Kris Sowersby, inspired partly from street signage.
